I have used Dave from By Design Group before on my previous property to alter the spatial layout and then two years later to help me with house hunting on the property I then moved to. So when I was looking to move again I knew who to call. This time I have used him and his team to refresh the property for sale. Which involved help with transforming a cellar space in to a liveable basement, the introduction of a a lean-to pergoda on the side of the house and finally a front of house facelift with garage doors, the drive, window sills, render, the house paint colour, (that were tired and in need of a refresh) brought back to life and now the first impression looks as good as new, if not better! We have a set of rental flats in a large Victorian property in Sale, Manchester, and a one bedroom flat required a total re-fit. I got Dave from HH design studio on recommendation from a friend and I’m really glad I did. We decided to the consultancy on site, and his help with spacial layout and re-configuration was invaluable, you can just see it is his thing. His understanding of space is great and he explained his concepts well, which gave us the confidence to make the changes that we didn’t quite know how - or have the confidence to do. The new layout/flow of the flat has first and foremost transformed the bedroom. Then made the bathroom more efficient and finally allowed the open plan kitchen and lounge to be maximised for both requirements. We used Dave at Hurricane Herbert on our previous property to unlock the space and come up with an exciting new layout. It unlocked our family life and brought loads more space and light in to our day to day living. When we were looking to move it was a no brainer for us to employ Dave and his knowledge to first help us find a new property and then eventually, when we had the energy and finances to unlock that one, look to re-design that layout. We recently reached that point and it was great to see him once more as he has come up with a really exciting inventive open plan layout for our relatively big but presently dark, disjointed Victorian semi. We used Dave at Hurricane Herbert design firstly to help us find a property where we sent him over right move options and he would respond explaining in detail why it was worth shortlisting in relation to our requirements and what future potentials as well as pitfalls different properties could hold. We finally settled on 3 potentials and we booked in with Dave and viewed all 3. From this we decided upon the house we are now living in and since then Dave has helped us with overall layouts, the kitchen and lighting.
